The Wizard is perhaps the most committed fraud in literary history. The man built an entire city’s worth of blind devotion, maintained it for years, and his main technological innovation was a very loud speaker system. There’s something deeply relatable about a guy who got wildly in over his head and just… kept going. Now you can honor that legacy in green twill.
Design & Details
The jacket is dark green twill with white broadcloth cuffs, and the vest is faux wool with a patterned front, button-down closure, and a gold chain attached at the middle. The whole layered look comes together without requiring you to source six separate pieces the dickie with attached black bowtie handles the shirt situation neatly.
Pants are printed twill with vertical stripes and an elastic waistband, so the fit stays comfortable all night. The dark green molded felt hat with its gold band finishes the silhouette. This is an officially licensed Wizard of Oz costume, so the character details are pulled straight from the source material.
Behind The Curtain
You’ll spend the evening looking like the most important man in a city no one can find on a map, greeting people with a slow nod like you’ve been expecting them, maybe gesturing vaguely at nothing when someone asks a hard question. Someone will eventually ask what you are. You’ll pause, adjust your hat, and say simply: “The Wizard.” Then you’ll walk away before they can follow up. That’s the character. That’s the bit. You’ll nail it.
